Serkan Çiçek is Economist at the wiiw and country expert for Turkey. In his research, he focuses on applied macroeconomics, monetary policy and central banking issues. In his recent research, he has analyzed the asymmetric anchoring of inflation expectations to inflation targets and/or actual inflation during the inflation targeting period. Before joining the wiiw, Serkan Çiçek was Associated Professor at the Mugla University and Assistant Professor at Maltepe University in Turkey. He was distinguished by numerous academic awards, such as the 2014 and 2010 Academic Encouragement Award of the Central Bank of Turkey (CBRT), the 2012 Translation Award by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA) and the 2009 PhD. Encouragement Award by the Turkish Economic Association (TEK). Mr. Çiçek obtained his PhD in Economics at the Yildiz Technical University (TR, 2009) and was a postdoctoral fellow in Economics at the University of York (UK, 2012).
