Client/Funding Institution

Abstract

The aim of this study is to provide a careful examination of intra-EU trade flows and to quantitatively determine shifts and compositional changes which deviate from world trade patterns. The study tries to assess whether or not some division of labour is taking place within Europe. And if so, what form of European division of labour can be observed and what are the respective reasons? And how is this division being affected by the rise of EU trade with third countries.
