Dear members and data subscribers
wiiw FDI Database
The spring update of the wiiw FDI Database has been completed for 23 Central, East and Southeast European countries, encompassing first release data for 2021 and backward revisions, as well as FDI flow and stock data by components. Detailed FDI flow and stock data by partner and by activities for 2021 are already available for several countries as well. This comprehensive set of data enables users to identify FDI trends across countries or discover specialisation patterns in specific economic activities.
This is our first release of FDI data in 2022, with the second release following in November with full country coverage for structural data and backward revisions for all indicators until 2021. This is the second of six releases, spread throughout the year, which will allow members and data subscribers to receive data and our accompanying analyses soon after their release.
Access to wiiw FDI Database
In addition to our database online retrieval tool, our wiiw CESEE Visual Data Explorer (CESEE VDE), which is exclusively available to members, offers cross-country comparisons for CESEE countries for selected FDI indicators and a special section on FDI.
Starting from 2021, we provide analysis of the most recent FDI trends twice per year, as part of wiiw Monthly Reports in the Spring and Autumn. This replaces our earlier wiiw FDI Report series. The latest edition of wiiw Monthly Report No.5/2022 - FDI in Central, East and Southeast Europe is reserved for members for the first six months after publication.
