You may browse the database via 'keyword search' and 'database tree' (left sidebar) for FREE (no login necessary).

How to access data

  • Access to wiiw data is provided as part of your membership registration.
  • After the registration process, please log in first.
  • Please select a topic from the database tree or search in the keyword search.
  • You may filter your results by e.g. country and indicator.
  • You can save your selection as a query for easy use in the future.
  • Download your results to Excel or as comma/tab separated file.

For the use of our databases we apply wiiw Standard Terms and Conditions. When using the data, extracted from the wiiw Databases, please additionally mention wiiw as a source.

Short description of database

A comprehensive and unique database on Foreign Direct Investment activities related to 23 countries in Central, East and Southeast Europe. Time series provide information on FDI inflows and outflows, inward and outward stocks by component, by partner or by activity. This comprehensive dataset is provided on an annual basis following the latest OECD definition and methodological guidelines. Deviations from standard definitions and breaks are described in footnotes. The time series are updated based upon data from the respective central banks.

Supplementary to direct access to the databases, wiiw offers an interactive visualisation tool of up-to-date statistics extracted from the wiiw Databases - CESEE Visual Data Explorer.
