Eduard Hochreiter is Senior Research Associate of wiiw. His research interests focus on European (Monetary) integration, monetary and exchange rate policy issues as well as on transition economies. Mr. Hochreiter worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and served as director of the Joint Vienna Institute (2006-2012), for the Oesterreichische Nationalbank in a number of economics positions (1975-2006) and was associate professor in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (2001 -2008). He also served as alternate member of the Economic and Finance Committee of the EU (EFC; 2001-2006). Mr. Hochreiter holds degrees in economics (London School of Economics (1974), University of Economics Vienna (1982) and in international relations (Johns Hopkins University, Bologna Center, 1975).
