Mahdi Ghodsi is Economist at wiiw. His research focuses on international trade, trade policy, economic integration and regional industrial economics. He obtained his Master’s degree in international economics from University of Warsaw. He is a Ph.D. graduate in Economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore - Sede di Milano. He defended his second Ph.D. dissertation in international economics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw in March 2016. During his Ph.D. studies in Milan and Warsaw, he acquired his expertise in non-tariff barriers to trade and trade conflict issues. Meanwhile, he worked on regional industrial economies, knowledge spillovers, transportation services trade, and global value chains.
