Demio webinar troubleshooting FAQ
Q: Do I need to install any software before connecting to the webinar?
A: No - the webinar is running in your browser. You just need to use a recent version of one of the following browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Please avoid Internet Explorer as it is outdated.
Q: I was able to register, but I can not connect/log in to the webinar. What's the problem?
A: The webinar service might be blocked by a firewall in your network. If you are connected to a VPN, turn off the VPN for the time of the webinar. If that does not work, you can also try to connect to the webinar via your smartphone, this usually works very well. If you have ongoing problems, you may ask your network administrator to open port 443 or 8443. Demio uses these ports to establish the SSL handshake and exchange ICE information, so whichever port you decide to enable needs to be open both ways (Inbound and outbound), additionally, the communication here is bidirectional and can only be established from the inside out, and only receives a response. Meaning, there is no possibility of malicious data being sent from our end to you over any of the TCP ports.
Q: The registration link does not work for me. Can you help? A: Your mail program seems to try to open the link in Internet Explorer (or another browser that is not supported). Please avoid using IE, because it is outdated and can not handle webinar applications. Copy the registration link to the address line of one of the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari. The registration (and connecting to the webinar itself) should work well with these browsers. Q: How can I ask questions in the webinar? A: ON the right side of the screen, you should see a chat window, where you can type in your questions.
