Elisabeth Hagen is Senior Research Associate at wiiw. Her research focuses on Industrial policy, transformation to sustainable industry and agriculture. Ms. Hagen was Executive Director of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) from 2006 to 2019. She has been managing operations at wiiw for 12 years. She also had management functions in business consultancy and M&A for altogether four years. Moreover she was economic advisor the Austrian Finance Minister and Chancellor during a period of five years. Prior to that she worked as advisor to the Hungarian Privatization Agency and ran her own consultancy firm in the US. Ms. Hagen has a law and an economics degree from the University of Vienna.
