Watch a video interview with Iván Martin on the integration of refugees in the European labour market

Integrating the more than one million refugees who have come to Europe since 2015 is a key challenge for the present social peace and the future economic prosperity of the old continent. The OECD estimated that it takes 20 years for refugees to achieve the same employment rates as native workers.

In the recent study ‘From Refugees to Workers: Mapping Labour Market Integration Support Measures for Refugees and Asylum-Seekers in EU Member States’, a research team based at the Migration Policy Centre of the European University Institute in Florence assessed what EU Member States are doing to facilitate and shorten the process of labour market assimilation for recent refugees.

Watch the main findings of the study in a video interview with former wiiw Scientific Director Michael Landesmann.
