Lea Steininger is an Economist at wiiw as well as at the University of Economics and Business' Economics Department (WU). Her research focuses on monetary economics, macro-finance, and monetary theory. She is a PhD candidate in monetary economics and holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Vienna. Lea is also a visiting researcher at the UC, Berkeley Economics Department in fall 2022. Before starting her PhD, she was employed as a Research Analyst at the European Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Research Division. In the past, she also worked as a consultant at both the ECB and the United Nation's Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
