Solidarity with Ukraine

wiiw condemns Russia’s war of aggression. Our thoughts are with our Ukrainian colleagues, cooperation partners, the population of Ukraine, and those demonstrating in Russia.

The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) stands in full solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine cannot be justified in any way.
At this time of unimaginable suffering, our thoughts in particular are with our Ukrainian colleagues at wiiw and our scientific cooperation partners in Kiev, but also the whole Ukrainian population, and those who are bravely demonstrating in Russia.
As well as the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, this war will deliver a negative economic shock in Ukraine, Russia, Europe as a whole and the rest of the world. In this context, we will work to objectively analyse the economic fallout, in cooperation with our colleagues in the region.
