Client/Funding Institution
International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD)
Abstract
FIMAS+Frauen was the fifth wave of the Austrian longitudinal study on integration processes of refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran in Austria. Its core focus was on labour market integration, but also on the interactions with other integration domains such as social and cultural integration, educational integration, residential integration, integration into the health and other areas of the welfare system, which favoured or hindered labour market integration. The project FIMAS+Frauen focussed on female refugees and their integration processes and experiences and identified the particular challenges they faced. The overall sample included over 2,800 respondents of which a quarter had also participated in at least one of the previous four FIMAS waves. FIMAS+Frauen built on and continued the previous four surveys FIMAS, FIMAS+INTEGRATION, FIMAS+INTEGRATION², and FIMAS+YOUTH.
