Fiscal policies in a European perspective

Abstract

The study compares fiscal policies of EU member states on the basis of the Government Finance Statistics (GFS), under the assumption of full utilization during the pre-crisis period. The general research question is “What would the budgetary situation be without a financial crisis”. Particular attention is paid to economically powerful members of the Eurozone, as well as the Austrian fiscal policy.
