Fiscal policies in a European perspective

Client/Funding Institution

Austrian Chamber of Labour

The study compares fiscal policies of EU member states on the basis of the Government Finance Statistics (GFS), under the assumption of full utilization during the pre-crisis period. The general research question is “What would the budgetary situation be without a financial crisis”. Particular attention is paid to economically powerful members of the Eurozone, as well as the Austrian fiscal policy.
