Serkan Çiçek is a Research Associate at wiiw, focusing on applied macroeconomics, monetary policy, central banking and international finance issues. Çiçek, who is currently a Professor of Economics and Finance at Muğla University, received his doctorate from Yıldız Technical University (Istanbul) and then carried out academic studies at University of York (York). He received various academic awards from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) in 2010 and 2014, from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in 2012 and from the Turkish Economics Institution (TEK) in 2009. Çiçek, who has several papers in distinguished journals such as Economic Modeling, Empirica, International Review of Economics & Finance and Central Bank Review, provides consultancy services to wiiw on the Turkish economy.
