Presentation of wiiw's latest growth forecast for 22 countries of Central, East and Southeast Europe.

The following questions will be addressed:

  • What are the main growth drivers in the CESEE region?
  • Which factors explain the projected slowdown of growth in most EU-CEE countries this year?
  • What are the long-term prospects of the CESEE region?
  • Who will benefit and who will lose from the new (post-Brexit) EU budget?
  • Will any new country join the euro area in the foreseeable future?

The webinar is directed to an international audience and will not cover Austria's economic relations with CESEE. The presentation will be in English.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

Vasily Astrov is Economist at wiiw and country expert on Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries. His research focuses on macroeconomic analysis, financial markets and energy issues. He is also co-editor of the wiiw Monthly Report.

Richard Grieveson is Economist at wiiw. His main area of research is CESEE country analysis and economic forecasting, with a particular focus on Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
