The following questions will be addressed:

  • Is CESEE facing a new permanent inflation era or just a temporary shock?
  • Will the Middle East war derail CESEE’s growth story?
  • After the second inflation shock in just a few years, are we witnessing the end of CESEE’s low-cost growth model?
  • Which countries are most exposed to the new energy shock and which are more resilient?
  • Could a longer war push parts of CESEE into recession and how much will energy exporters like Russia and Kazakhstan benefit?
  • Is defence spending becoming CESEE’s new industrial policy?
  • Will firms that fail to automate and adapt be squeezed out between rising costs and Chinese competition?
