Mahdi Ghodsi is Economist at wiiw. His research focuses on international trade, industrial policy, economic integration, and the Iran economy. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore - Sede di Milano and a second Ph.D. in international economics from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw. His current research fields include applied econometrics on trade regulations and standards, the effects and policies of non-tariff measures and trade agreements. Further he works on firm heterogeneity and the European competitiveness, foreign direct investment, quality of traded products, global value chains, and the political economy of sanctions.
